What makes a useful handover note?
Record what you can see, where it is and how to find the related photo. For example: “Main bathroom, lower right corner of the vanity: the door catches on the frame when it closes. Photo IMG_2043.” You can use the downloaded text list to discuss each item with your builder or inspector.
A walkthrough list captures your observations. An independent handover inspection can assess whether an issue is a defect and document its findings in a report.
